Use and Care Instructions for Using Crow Canyon (CGS International) Enamelware CGS products are finished in porcelain enamel on steel. The enamel surface is applied by hand which makes each piece distinctive and unique -- the marble pattern will vary among pieces.
Minor surface irregularities and unfinished edges are a normal result of the metalworking and enameling process.
As with any dinnerware, some scratching and dulling of the surface is likely to occur over time.
Care Instructions:
It is best not to use abrasive materials on enamel surfaces. Remove stains and burned-on grease with a soap-filled plastic scouring pad or sponge.
Be careful when using sharp-edged metal utensils to keep from scratching your items.
Do not use enamelware in the microwave.
Do not allow enamelware to boil dry when using it on the stovetop. It may damage the enamel surface.
If enamelware is left empty on a hot burner or in a heated oven, switch off the heat and allow the pieces to cool slightly before adding liquid.
It is best to empty and dry the tea kettles and coffee pots after use to prevent any possibility of rust. If you do experience a little rusting, place 2 tablespoons of baking soda and a squeeze of lemon juice into the item. Add water and bring to a boil. Let cool and wash thoroughly before using.
Enamel on steel is hard and strong. But like all fine ceramic materials, it will chip if handled too roughly. With proper care, you should be able to enjoy this enamelware for many years to come.
